Maria Sharapova, meanwhile, is still considered to be one of the favorites to win the title in London despite her persistent arm injury. She lost to Williams in the quarterfinal of the 2016 Australian Open and has not competed since then. But nevertheless, the five-time Grand Slam champion could prove to be a handful for any opponent once she fully recovers.
