The name is Joey Demling, who has correctly predicted nine of the past 14 Preakness Stakes winners. That\u2019s nothing to scoff at and ignore. When Demling speaks about the Preakness, all ears should be on him. And for Demling, the horse to watch out for Owendale. Owned by Rupp Racing and trained by Brad Cox, Owendale is coming off a victory at Lexington (Grade 3 stakes) at Keeneland. It was a huge bounce-back performance for Owendale after finishing just eighth at the Risen Star Grade 2 stakes. Demling also notest that Owendale has Triple Crown winner pedigree, with Seattle Slew and Secretariat part of his blood. Furthermore, Owendale has only failed to finish inside the top three once in five races, thus far in his racing career.<\/span><\/p>\n

With three Kentucky Derby racers in Maximum Security, Country House, and Code of Honor out of the the 2019 Preakness Stakes, Improbable has seemingly absorbed the attention worthy of a favorite. That has been acknowledged by The Racing Biz, which reported of Improbable\u2019s status as the likely horse to beat at the Pimlico Race Course. Bettors won\u2019t have to squint too hard to understand why Improbable is garnering such attention. For one, All three horses that finished in front of him won\u2019t be there at the 2019 Preakness Stakes. Apart from Country House, and Code of Honor Derby third-placer Tacitus will also not run at the Pimlico Race Course. Improbable was among the horses to watch heading into the Kentucky Derby, having finished no worse than second in all of his previous five races, includng three-straight wins to start his racing career.<\/span><\/p>\n

Per Horse Racing Nation, only one horse trained by Bob Baffert is on the list of probable contenders at the 2019 Preakness Stakes. That\u2019s Improbable, who\u2019s considered as the favorite to win the second leg of the Triple Crown this year. Paul Banks of The Racing Biz wrote his outlook for the race way before some entries withdrew from the contest, but he expressed clearly his confidence in Bob Baffert, who is no stranger to success in horse racing, Baffert is looking to take home his seventh Preakness Stakes win and second since 2018. He trained 2018 Triple Crown winner Justify. Banks also mentioned War of Will as a potential dark horse, War of Will is trained by Mark Casse, and his stock has dipped over his last two races, having finished ninth at the Louisiana Derby (Grade 2 stakes) and seventh at the Kentucky Derby. <\/span><\/p>\n
