The Sooners had a slow start last Saturday against the Kansas Jayhawks, but Jalen Hurts and company ultimately brought the pain in a decisive 45-20 road win. Hurts went 16 for 24 for 228 passing yards and two touchdowns with an interception. The Sooners\u2019 offense never really fell off a cliff from its performance last season when Kyler Murray was under center. Hurts is doing a fantastic job sustaining the electric attack of the Sooners, who are averaging 49.2 points per game and 622.0 total yards per contest — the highest in Division I football. Texas has had troubles in its previous games stopping weaker opponents, so it\u2019s fair to expect the Longhorns struggling to put the clams on the Sooners\u2019 attack. Defensively, the Sooners have improved greatly since 2018, when they were allowing 33.3 points per game. This season, they are holding their opponents down to only 20.2 points per outing.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Sooners are 10-0\u00a0<\/span>straight up (SU)\u00a0<\/span>in their last 10 road games.<\/span><\/p>\n

Betting on the Texas Longhorns (4-1 Overall \/ 2-0 Conference)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Texas notched its third consecutive win since losing to the LSU Tigers in Week 2, as they defeated the West Virginia Mountaineers, 42-31, on the road. Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger did just enough under center to tow the Longhorns to the victory, as he passed for 211 yards and two touchdowns against an interception on 18-of-33 completions. Running back Roschon Johnson repeatedly split the Mountaineers\u2019 defense to finish with 121 rushing yards on 21 carries, while Ehlinger had two rushing scores and 45 rushing yards on nine carries. Ehlinger is an excellent game manager, and it shows in the Longhorns\u2019 56.58 third-down conversion percentage, which is the best in the nation, so far this season. The Longhorns are eighth overall with 41.8 points per game and 17th with 308.0 passing yards per contest. Oklahoma showed some cracks in the Kansas game, which the Longhorns have definitely noted for them to exploit in the upcoming showdown.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Longhorns are 4-3-1\u00a0<\/span>against the spread (ATS)\u00a0<\/span>in their last nine home games. 39-36.<\/span><\/p>\n
