The Hawkeyes pitched a 20-0 shutout win over the Wildcats back in Week 9 before having a full rest in Week 10. Quarterback Nate Stanley went 12 for 26 for 179 yards and a touchdown, while the backfield rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown on 40 total carries. The Hawkeyes are going to need the same balanced attack on offense in their next game against Wisconsin\u2019s stout defense, though, they may be catching the Badgers at the best time. The Badgers\u2019 defense has been dinged badly of late, and the team, as a whole, maybe demoralized after the recent losses. The Hawkeyes are also hopeful that leading wide receiver Brandon Smith could play after missing the Northwestern game due to injury.<\/span><\/p>\n

That soul-crushing loss was followed up by a defeat at the hands of the Ohio State Buckeyes on the road last Saturday, 38-7. The Badgers just need to regain their mojo and a game at home could be the cure to their malaise. The Badgers need running back Jonathan Taylor will have to bounce back after running into a brick wall in the Ohio State game in which he had 52 rushing yards on 20 carries for a measly 2.6 rushing yards per carry average. Iowa\u2019s offense isn\u2019t also on the same level as that of Ohio State, so containing the Hawkeyes\u2019 attack shouldn\u2019t be much of a problem for the Badgers\u2019 defense that still ranks fifth in the nation with just 11.4 points allowed per game.<\/span><\/p>\n
