A tough stretch is proving to be too much to handle for Texas Tech. After losing to the TCU Horned Frogs in Fort Worth, the Red Raiders fell to No. 15 Kentucky Wildcats during a Big 12\/SEC Challenge game at home last Saturday to the tune of a 76-74 score. It was the Red Raiders\u2019 non-conference loss in Lubbock since December of 2013. The Red Raiders can\u2019t shoot the way that they did in that game if they are to beat Kansas. Texas Tech shot just 42.2 percent from the field and only 3 of 19 from behind the arc. That being said, it\u2019s something of an admirable job for Texas Tech to hang that close with Kentucky despite the team\u2019s atrocious shooting. Texas Tech has the ability to keep in step with stronger opponents because of its defense. The Red Raiders forced Kentucky to commit 20 turnovers. They are great in harassing opposing ball-handlers and breaking up passes on defense, which is also why they are forcing the 10th-most turnovers per game (17.5).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Red Raiders are 5-3 against the spread (ATS) in their last eight road games.<\/span><\/p>\n

Betting on the Kansas Jayhawks (17-3 Overall \/ 6-1 Conference)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Suspensions and all, the Jayhawks found a way to get their win streak going, as they defeated the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Stillwater last Monday, 65-50. The Jayhawks were missing the pair of David McCormack and Silvio De Sousa in that game, as the two were serving suspensions for their role in a recent brawl in a win over the Kansas State Wildcats. McCormack could return for the Texas Tech game, but De Sousa will have to wait a little longer, as his suspension is for at least 10 more games. The Jayhawks can survive those losses because they still have their best players active and playing. Devon Dotson, who leads the team with 18.0 points per game, had 11 points against the Cowboys, while Isaiah Moss came off the bench and fired 13 points. Kansas is also dangerous because of its defense that shut down Oklahoma State. The Cowboys shot just 28.1 percent from the field and 11.1 percent from deep against the Jayhawks, who are inside the top 10 in both of Kenpom\u2019s adjusted offensive and defensive efficiency.<\/span><\/p>\n
