We all know what happened the first time Figueiredo fought Moreno just last December. He was deducted a point for an illegal strike, which was all the difference needed for that fight to come down to a draw. The good thing for Figueiredo is that he remains a champion in the flyweight division plus he\u2019s still undefeated in six fights. In his win over Moreno, Figueiredo got points mostly off his striking, as he landed 57 percent of his significant strikes. He went to Moreno\u2019s body a lot then unleashed vicious kicks. He had 10 kicks landed to just one by Moreno. Figueiredo also took Moreno down to the ground twice and landed more strikes in that position. The Brazilian has scary power, as he\u2019s got nine wins via knockouts. It was impressive for Moreno that he lasted the first fight despite lots of blows absorbed from Figueiredo, but for how long can he be lucky? With a longer preparation time, Figueiredo might just have a knockout waiting for his Mexican foe. <\/span><\/p>\n

Like Figueiredo, Moreno has not also lost in six fights, though the draw with the champion has been his second over that stretch. Moreno also drew with Maikel Perez in a Legacy Fighting Alliance back in June 2019 — a fight before he jumped to the UFC. Moreno\u2019s striking was also on point in the first fight against Figueiredo, as he landed 132 significant strikes — just five fewer than the champion\u2019s. He landed most of his strikes on Figueiredo\u2019s head and even had more significant strikes in two of the last three rounds. He also had a 50 percent success rate in his takedown attempts, going 4 of 8. Moreno has a two-inch reach advantage over Figueiredo, but he\u2019s probably more interested in trying to win the fight on the ground. He doesn\u2019t possess a knockout power it seems, as he only has three knockout wins in his MMA career, but he is a tantalizing 10-0 when it comes to submissions. For Moreno, the key would be avoiding the power of Figueiredo while shooting from opportunities to score takedowns.<\/span><\/p>\n
