The Texas A&M Aggies will head to their SEC opener against Arkansas with momentum on their side after defeating the Nevada Wolf Pack, 44-27, on Saturday night. It was another convincing victory for the Aggies who improved their record this season to 3-0. The Trojans have won their first three assignments by an average of 23.7 points. With their win against Nevada, the Aggies recorded their 19th<\/sup> straight victory over nonconference opponents, the longest active streak in the FBS.<\/p>\n

He accounted for five touchdowns -four passing and one rushing \u2013 against Nevada, throwing for 270 yards and rushing for 55. Betting on the Arkansas Razorbacks<\/h3>\n

The Arkansas Razorbacks crashed to their second consecutive defeat with a 35-24 loss to the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday. They had no answer for Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes who gave the Razorbacks defense all types of problems with his dual-threat ability. He completed 26 of 30 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 58 yards and two more touchdowns.<\/p>\n

It was a heart-breaking defeat for the Razorbacks, who were installed as double-digit favorites against the Red Raiders prior to the game. They’re now 1-2 this season with both losses coming in their own home state (Toledo in Little Rock, Texas Tech in Fayetteville). They have now\u00a0lost two home games to unranked, double-digit underdogs.\u00a0It won\u2019t get any easier for Arkansas this coming Saturday, as standing in its way in the next game are the streaking Texas A&M Aggies.<\/p>\n

For the Razorbacks to snap their losing skid against the Aggies, they need to perform a much better job on the defensive end. The Razorbacks surrendered 486 total yards in that loss to the Red Raiders. In fact, Texas Tech averaged 8.4 yards per play against an Arkansas defense that finished last season ranked 10th in the nation.\u00a0That kind of defensive ineptitude simply won\u2019t do against a Texas A&M side that is wreaking havoc on the offensive end thus far this season. The Aggies are averaging 487.7 yards in total offense this year. They rolled up 535 offensive yards in their last victory against Nevada.<\/p>\n

The pressure also is on quarterback Brandon Allen to deliver a big-time performance for Arkansas. He completed 16 of 21 passes for 196 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in the Razorbacks’ loss to the Red Raiders on Saturday.<\/p>\n
