Recap: In the first ever Pro Bowl game, defense was the theme of the game evidenced by a 3-3 score at halftime. However, in the second half the NFC, coached by San Francisco’s Dick Nolan, found their offense and scored 24 points while limiting the John Madden-led AFC to a field goal for a final score of 23-to-7. Green Bay linebacker Fred Carr and Dallas defensive back Mel Renfro was named the most valuable players.
