Recap: The 1997 Pro Bowl saw the second overtime game in the series history. Trailing 16-to-23 with four minutes to go in regulation, the AFC turned to Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Mark Brunell, who hit Oakland Raiders wide receiver Tim Brown for an 80-yarder and a touchdown to tie the game. With 11 seconds to go, the NFC had a chance to win the game but missed a 39-yard field goal attempt. In overtime, the AFC sealed the deal with a 37-yard field goal from Indianapolis Colts Cary Blanchard for a final score of 26-to-23 for the AFC. Brunell was named the MVP completing 13-of-25 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown.
