Recap: Both the Oakland Raiders and the Minnesota Vikings were looking for their first NFL title in Super Bowl XI. While it was the first try for the Raiders it was the fourth for the Vikings. Both teams went scoreless in the opening quarter before the John Madden-led Raiders racked up 16 points in the 2nd quarter to take the big lead at the break.


The Raiders, who had a total of 429 yards gained, continued the onslaught in the second half scoring 16 more points off key interceptions to take the 32-to-14 victory. Oakland wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff was the Super Bowl XI MVP with 79 receiving yards on 4 receptions.
