Recap: The San Francisco 49ers were aiming for their fourth Super Bowl title and their quarterback Joe Montana was looking for his 3rd. In their match-up vs. the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXIV, the 49ers were favored to win and they did it in a big way.


San Francisco dominated Denver to the tune of 55-to-10 after holding a 27-to-3 lead at halftime. The Broncos lost their fourth Super Bowl game in four tries mainly because of Montana, who was named Super Bowl XXIV MVP. He finished with 22-of-29 passes for 297 yards and 5 touchdowns. Wide receiver Jerry Rice, the MVP the previous year, had 148 yards from seven passes and 3 TDs.
