2015 NFL Week 3 Fantasy Sleepers

Travis Benjamin – Wide Receiver, Cleveland Browns

[sc:NFL240banner ]Johnny Manziel may have finally found his most reliable receiver this year and he goes by the name of Travis Benjamin. Manziel and Benjamin showcased in Week 2 how fearsome of a duo they can be at the expense of the Tennessee Titans by connecting for two huge touchdowns. The first one happened in the opening quarter, a 60-yard strike, and the second one was for about 50-yards that eventually sealed the 28-14 win for the Cleveland Browns.

Furthermore, that game was extra special for Benjamin as he also scored on a 78-yard punt return, which made him just the tenth player in NFL history with three touchdowns of at least 50-yards in a single game since Tavon Austin in 2013.

That being said, it’s safe to say the speedy wide receiver is bound for a promising performance in Week 3 especially with Manziel, who has not thrown a touchdown pass to anyone not named Travis Benjamin this year, likely getting another shot at the starting quarterback position.

Matt Jones – Running back, Washington Redskins

Matt Jones

If there’s a player named Matt Jones still lingering in your fantasy league’s waiver wire or free agency pool, you better pick him up right at this moment.

Jones was one of the biggest surprises in the recent week, as he was flat out dominant in the Washington Redskin’s 24-10 victory against the St. Louis Rams. The rookie running back had 19 carries for a total of 123 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching three passes for 23 yards.  This performance was definitely enough to receive the trust of the coaching staff.

Expect Jones to get the same or even more touches come Week 3 that could lead him to yet another offensive outburst opposite the New York Giants.

Crockett Gillmore – Tight End, Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens’ tight end, Crockett Gillmore, just boosted his fantasy value tremendously after a solid Week 2 output despite the loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Gillmore proved to be a very reliable target for QB Joe Flacco last Sunday, catching 5-of-6 targets for 88 yards and two touchdowns. He may not be one of the fastest runners on the field but his size compensates for it. Gillmore proved that when he ran through three defenders for his second touchdown during the game. Expect him to build on this performance when his team takes on the Cincinnati Bengals for their Week 3 clash this coming Sunday.

Andy Dalton – Quarterback, Cincinnati Bengals

Andy Dalton2

Week 2 was a pretty costly one for a few fantasy league owners with a pair of star quarterbacks—Tony Romo and Drew Brees—going down with injuries. For those who need a solid replacement or are just really in need of quarterback, Andy Dalton of the Cincinnati Bengals is most probably the best option to pick up if he’s still available.

Dalton already has accumulated 483 yards and five touchdowns versus zero interceptions through the first two weeks of the 2015 season. A big reason to this success is the fact that he’s surrounded with some solid wideouts in A.J. Green and Marvin Jones, who have combined for 175 receiving yards on 12 receptions with a pair of touchdowns. Dalton is bound for another solid showing in Week 3, especially against a Baltimore Ravens team that allowed 351 passing yards and three touchdowns to the Oakland Raiders.

Robbie Gould – Kicker, Chicago Bears

Through two weeks, one of the most consistent kickers in the league has been Robbie Gould of the Chicago Bears. Gould has been a perfect 6-for-6 in the Bears’ first two games and has not been bothered at all by the increased extra-point distance. His final field-goal that he made during Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals was from 51 yards, the second kick that he’s converted from 50-plus yards this year.

Cleveland Browns Defense

The Oakland Raiders surprised many with a 37-33 upset over the Baltimore Ravens. But their Week 3 clash with the Cleveland Browns is likely to send them back down to earth. The Browns have proven to have a great pass defense over the last two years, which can certainly put a stop to the Raiders’ air game which accumulated 351 yards in Week 2.

Moreover, Cleveland’s front seven completely pounded Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans on Sunday’s 28-14 victory. They were able to garner seven sacks on the rookie quarterback that clearly prevented him and the Titans to get their offensive game flowing.
