Betting on the Houston Astros (-1.5)

Regular Season Record: 35-24

The Astros will look to get back on track after suffering a 2-1 home loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels in a series finale contest on Sunday. On the mound for the Astros later tonight will be Brandon Bielak, who will be making his sixth start of the year. So far in 2023, Bielak has a 3.19 ERA and 1.45 WHIP. He impressed in his last appearance, allowing just an earned run on three hits in 5.2 innings of a 5-1 home win over the Minnesota Twins on May 30.

The Astros are 16-5 in their last 21 games against teams from the American League East division.

Betting on the Toronto Blue Jays (+1.5)

Regular Season Record: 33-27

Toronto hopes to stay hot. The Blue Jays extended their win streak to four games after beating the New York Mets on the road on Sunday to complete a three-game sweep in Queens. Alek Manoah will make the start later tonight for the Blue Jays. He is 1-6 with a 5.46 ERA and 1.77 WHIP so far this year. Considering Manoah’s struggles on the mound, the Blue Jays hope to see robust offensive performances from the likes of Bo Bichette and Matt Chapman, who lead the team with .883 and .852 OPS this season.

The Blue Jays are 4-0 in their last four games against a righty starter and 4-1 in their last five contests after a win.

Writer’s Prediction

The Astros win, 7-4.
