There’s no shortage of world-class golf action all year-round. The Greenbrier Classic is here to give the world’s top golfers a chance to shine before they converge for the year’s third major, the British Open. This year’s field features plenty of talent such as Bubba Watson and Bill Haas. But there are a couple of other big-time players such as Keegan Bradley, and not to mention Tiger Woods, who could steal their thunder.

Sleeper Picks for the 2015 Greenbrier Classic
Keegan Bradley
Keegan Bradley’s game sets him up pretty well to impress at the Greenbrier Classic. He’s ranked 14th in average driving distance (303.8 yards) and tee-to-green strokes gained (1.133). He’s also ranked 15th in total strokes gained (1.098), which should help him keep his scores low at a manageable course in TPC Old White.

He almost never misses a cut; he’s made 16 of 18 cuts in the PGA Tour this season, and also has four top 10 finishes thus far. Bradley was a strong player at this tournament a year ago, tying for fourth with a nine-under par 271. He should be at or near the top of the leaderboard at Greenbrier, considering he’s playing in a relatively week field.
Those hesitating to pick Kevin Kisner (+2,800) at the Greenbrier Classic due to his paltry record (he’s missed three straight cuts this season) need to give him another look. He’s playing the best golf of his career this season, which makes him an excellent contender in a shallow field making its way to TPC Old White.
Kisner has made 15 of 21 cuts in 2015, including seven top 25 finishes, five top 10s and two second-place finishes. The 31 year old golfer is in his most successful stretch heading into the Greenbrier Classic, finishing in the top 10 in four of his last seven tournaments (including those two aforementioned second-place finishes).
Playing in a short course such as TPC Old White also bodes well for Kisner and his game. He’s ranked 11th in putting inside 10 feet (89.5 percent), which should result in plenty of birdies and lower scores throughout the tournament.
Tiger Woods
A few years ago, Tiger Woods was on pace to break Jack Nicklaus’ 18 career record Grand Slam titles. Fast forward to today and the superstar is merely an afterthought in the majors. Woods most recently missed his first U.S. Open cut since 2006 after posting the highest 36-hole score (16-over par 156) of his career at Chambers Bay.
Thankfully, TPC Old White isn’t as difficult as Chambers Bay. It’s a rather short course that could help Woods find his stroke. His 298.9 average driving distance this season should help him navigate the course. His 90.96 percent putting inside 10 feet should also help him get as fewer strokes as possible at TPC Old White.
Woods isn’t one of the elite talents like youngsters Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth anymore, but he should still have the experience and goods needed to dominate in smaller tournaments such as the Greenbrier Classic. Woods is +4,000 to win his first championship in 2015.
