The prize money a player receives for the 2016 Aegon Championships will depend on the round he finishes in. Obviously, the deeper one goes in the tournament, the bigger the size of his share of the $2 million purse.
The winner of 2016 Aegon Championships will take home close to half a million dollars ($462,926 to be exact, give or take a few dollars). That’s about a $30,000 bump up from the prize money received by last year’s champion, British No. 1 Andy Murray.
Murray, a four-time winner in the tournament, will be back this year and will be looking to successfully defend the title for the first time.
Meanwhile, the losing finalist and semifinalists shouldn’t feel too bad, since they will also take home six figures. The runner-up will get $217,412 – that’s less than half of the winner’s share, but still – and the semifinalists will get a shade under $108,000.
