The Chronicle Live provided a series of predictions from its eight soccer experts, and most of them selected the host country—France (+300)—as the eventual winner. That may be the most obvious pick, but it’s still pretty hard to against this choice.
France is a team showered with young legs, talent and just the right amount of experience. What makes them more frighteningly strong is their level of depth. And if you combined all of that along with the advantage of playing in front of a raucous home crowd, it really won’t be surprising to see Les Bleus emerge victorious at the end of the tournament.
It’s worth noting, though, that Germany (+350) will still be in the hunt no matter what. The Germans are also oozing with talent in almost every position, and have an offensive machine in Thomas Muller on their side. He delivered nine goals during the qualifiers, and is a +700 favorite to snag the Golden Boot.

Sam Farmer of The News Hub also went with the obvious (and boring) choice: France. He states that the country has all the necessary ingredients to win it all. The French have a lot of firepower on both ends of the pitch and should be able to capitalize on that fact that they’ll be playing on their own home soil.
Interestingly though, Farmer also predicts that Les Bleus will end up facing Spain (+550) in the championship round. Yes, France will end up winning, but the Spaniards are not going to make it easy. They’ll be oozing with confidence and will be very motivated to redeem themselves from their lackluster performance in the 2014 World Cup.

Meanwhile, the folks over at Outside of the Boot, are putting their trust on the reigning world champions—Germany. The Germans have the tendency to shine at any major tournament no matter how good or bad the current state of their team is.
Speaking of which, the Germans should be fine despite their recent injury blows, particularly with Ilkay Gundogan and Marco Reus both ruled out of the tournament. Die Mannschaft still has several reliable options remaining, and they definitely won’t run out of offensive weapons.
