For those who still don’t know, NASCAR has ceased public disclosure of any information about their prize-money distribution this season. But again, that’s not going to hinder us from trying to measure how much cash is at stake for the 2016 Pure Michigan 400 race, which is set to happen this coming Sunday already.
Matt Kenseth came home almost a quarter of a million dollars richer—or $226,586 to be exact—after reigning victorious in last year’s race. He can expect a slightly higher amount this weekend if he does succeed in defending his crown. But even if he doesn’t, there’s nothing to be really sad about ending up with maybe $190,885, which was the earnings of the 2015 runner-up—Kevin Harvick.
