Ben Alberstadt of Bleacher Report is also going with Dustin Johnson. Alberstadt heavily considered Johnson’s recent form and history at East Lake in making his pick. The 32-year-old veteran won the BMW Championship two weeks ago, and has recorded three top-10 finishes in his last three starts at the aforementioned course.

This is becoming very lopsided. Tom LaMarre of UPI.com shared his list of contenders for this week’s tournament, with Dustin Johnson sitting pretty at the top. But for the sake of having other options, LaMarre also went with Adam Scott and Patrick Reed as his next two best picks.
Scott, who’s priced at +800 to win it all at East Lake, is the only player who has found himself inside the top 10 in all three playoff events this season. Reed, meanwhile, has 11 finishes in the top 10 and was the victor in the year’s first playoff event—The Barclays. He’s attractively pegged at +1,500 to win the Tour Championship this week.

Rory Mcllroy
And for us here at TopBet, we’ve decided not to ride the Dustin-Johnson train. Rory Mcllroy is our guy. He’s the second-leading favorite (+500) at East Lake even though this season’s hasn’t really been good to him. The 27-year-old Northern Irishman won the Deutsche Bank Championship, but followed that up with a disappointing T42 finish at Crooked Stick. A bounce-back performance, or better yet, a win from Mcllroy, who was the runner-up in the 2014 edition of the Tour Championship, may happen this week.
