2016 WGC Bridgestone Invitational Sleepers and Sleeper Picks, Predictions, Odds, and PGA Golf Betting Preview

There will be 550 FedEx Cup points at stake at Firestone Country Club this week, when some of the top pros head there for the 2016 Bridgestone Invitational. The field is relatively small, counting just 59 participants, though big names like Dustin Johnson and Jason Day will be there to contend for the title. A smaller field also means a bigger opportunity for the sleepers to win the event. Here are three of them.

Shane Lowry (+3,500)

250X130-The-British-Open---News-Banners

Lowry must be aching to get back on the grass following an unfortunate T2 finish at the U.S. Open. Lowry was holding on a four-shot lead after 54 holes at Oakmont Country Club before he was submarined by a nasty 76 in the fourth round. Nevertheless, Lowry is a golfer to watch at Firestone Country given his momentum. He finished tied for 16th at the Players Championship also last May. And have we mentioned that he is the defending champion of this tournament?

Adam Scott (+2,200)

Currently ranked second in the FedEx Cup, Scott is setting his sights on winning his second WGC title this year. He topped the field back in March at the Cadillac Championship and appears to be in solid form heading to Akron based on his recent play. Scott has finished inside the top 20 in three of his last four starts, including a T12 at Wells Fargo and aa T12 at the Players Championship. More recently, he placed T18 at the U.S. Open. Scott also has an apparent predilection at playing at Firestone, where he has four career top 10s there.

Branden Grace (+2,600)

Here’s a player who’s been on a rampage of late. Grace is having quite a stretch after missing the cut at The Masters tournament back in April. In four starts since his debacle at Augusta, Grace has garnered three top 10s in four starts. That stretch includes a win at the RBC Heritage and a strong T5 at the recently concluded U.S. Open. Moreover, Grace has four top 25 finishes in his career at Firestone.
