Jeff Gutowski of Fantasy Racing Cheat Sheet is going with Martin Truex Jr. as his winner for this weekend’s race. Truex, the defending champion of the Coca-Cola 600, simply dominated last year’s race. He won pole and led for 392 of the 400 laps en route to victory. Truex is also coming off his second race win of the season last time out in Kansas.
Meanwhile, Gutowski has current Monster Energy Cup points leader Kyle Larson coming in at second. While Larson had another terrific showing in last week’s All-Star Race, he’s not completely confident in Larson’s pit crew. He still believes Larson will be in contention for most of the race, but there’s a chance his pit crew costs him some valuable time during at least one pit stop.

Fox Sports resident NASCAR fantasy expert Chad Robb has also gone with Truex to take the checkered flag in Charlotte. Robb also brings up Truex’s win last year’s race, which described as one of the most dominant in NASCAR history.
Robb also notes Truex’s terrific record in 1.5-mile tracks. He’s won five of his last 11 races on those intermediates. While Robb doesn’t think Truex will be quite as dominant as he was last year, he does believe No. 78 will eventually make it back-to-back wins in Charlotte.

The usual cast of Yahoo! Fantasy NASCAR experts polled by Fantasy Racing Cheat Sheet was split, with two votes for Truex, and two votes for points leader Larson. However, the majority of the FRCS users also sided with Truex to win.
There was the lone dissenter out of the five actual experts, as Kyle Wiseman went with Jimmie Johnson. That’s hardly a controversial pick, seeing as JJ has the most wins out of any active driver at Charlotte Motor Speedway with eight.
