The Total Payout

There is money to be made at TPC Boston. The Dell Technologies Championship boasts a total purse of $8.75 million, with a hefty $1.575 million of that pot going to the eventual champion. That’s excellent news for this week’s field considering the total payout last year amounted to only $8.5 million.

To put into perspective the difference in prize money, defending champion Rory McIlroy (+1,400) pocketed $1.53 million in cash winnings last year. That’s $45,000 less than the amount the Dell Technologies champion will receive this year. Finishing second in this tournament ain’t bad either with the runner-up receiving a cash payout of $945,000. On the other end of the table, the 70th or so golfer to make the cut this week will bring home around $17,500.
