Randy Chambers | Scott Dixon, Will Power |
Chambers, to no one’s surprise, is going with the top dog of the race. It’s just hard not to. Dixon (+600) has the pole position and the accolades to warrant such respect. He ruled the event in 2008, finished second in 2012, and was inside the top 8 in nine of his last 11 races.
With Power (+600), Chambers is liking momentum, saying that the 36-year-old may have “the best form than anybody [entering the event].” Power, of course, came out on top in the IndyCar Grand Prix and was a runner-up at the Phoenix Grand Prix. Further, Chambers noted that the veteran has three consecutive top-10 finishes at the Indy 500, including going second in 2015.

Kevin Laramee | Marco Andretti, Fernando Alonso |
AJ Jobe | Helio Castroneves, Fernando Alonso |
Jobe, a former pro race car driver, joined Kevin Laramee’s podcast to preview the Indy 500, and both made two picks each. Jobe lauded over Castroneves’ (+900) experience and calmness whenever on the track, adding that starting 19th won’t faze the all-timer, while also calling him “one of the greatest ever.”
Laramee, meanwhile, likes Andretti’s (+900) chances due to the string of good performances on the season, saying that he believes this is the second generation racer’s year to completely shine.
That said, the two also echoed each other about Alonso (+900). Both agreed that it will be a great moment to have the Spaniard finally take home an Indy 500 trophy.

Steven Wright | Fernando Alonso |
Jordie Peters | Scott Dixon |
Alan Suter | Scott Dixon |
Braeden Leggett | Ryan Hunter Reay |
Wright claimed that he is a big Dixon fan, but also said that this is Alonso’s year and thought that the 35-year-old he will overcome the pressure from the fans.
Peters and Suter, meanwhile, are both picking Dixon to win in the same way Chambers did, with Suter also commending Dixon’s “powerhouse team.”
As for Leggett, he firmly believes on Hunter-Reay (+900), who won the event in 2014. He then added that the racer’s Honda aero kit will be quite suited for Indianapolis’s tracks.
