The 2017 NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series playoffs continue with the second race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in New Hampshire. Points leader Martin Truex Jr. took the first race in Chicagoland. Will the 2017 ISM Connect 300 produce a more surprising winner? If it does, these three drivers should be the top candidates to take that checkered flag.
Kenseth has been fairly consistent for most of the season, but he’s still searching for that elusive first win. Well, he’s got a good chance of finally getting it in New Hampshire. Kenseth has a strong record at the track, with three wins already to his name as well as 11 top-5 finishes and 20 top-10 finishes in 35 career starts.
A lot of the shine from Elliott’s impressive runner-up finish at Chicagoland was removed after he was busted for a penalty which will cost him his crew chief and car chief for this upcoming race in New Hampshire. Still, it shouldn’t completely take away from Elliott fine performance, which he could still recreate this weekend.
Bowyer hasn’t come close to winning in quite a while, but don’t sleep on him in New Hampshire, which could just be the place where he becomes a contender once again. Bowyer has eight career wins in the NASCAR Cup Series, and two of them have come at the track. He was also right in contention in July’s race as he finished a respectable seventh.
