PGATour.com (Rob Bolton)

Sleeper Picks
David Hearn
John Huh
James Hahn
Sung Kang
Matt Jones

For PGATour.com’s Rob Bolton, one name immediately jumps into mind when it comes to the sleeper front for this week’s Quicken Loans National. And that name is David Hearn. The Ontario native is in a rich vein of form, nabbing top-10s in each of his last two starts at the St. Jude Classic and Travelers Championship. Hearn is pegged at +8,000 to win this week.

John Huh is another golfer who has caught the eye of Bolton. He leads the PGA Tour in scrambling and that skill will be vital in a hard track such as Congressional. In fact, Huh has performed his best on golf courses where keeping one’s ball in play is at a premium. He finished tied for ninth this year at Copperhead and tied for 22nd at TPC San Antonio.

James Hahn’s another guy who’s playing some solid golf as we speak. He finished his last start at Muirfield Village like a house on fire, shooting rounds of 65 and 69 over the weekend. Hahn finished that week seventh in birdies-or-better percentage and tied for sixth in scrambling. His odds of winning the tournament are currently priced at +5,000.

Rounding out Bolton’s sleeper picks are Sung Kang and Matt Jones. Kang arrives at Congressional with a modest consecutive cuts made streak of six in tow. Since a T12 at the Phoenix Open, Kang is 13-for-16 with six top 25s. He has had some success in this golf track before, tying for sixth in the Web.com Tour event contested at TPC Potomac in 2013. He is priced at +9,000 to win the Quicken Loans National this week.

Jones, on the other hand, finished tied for 18th in his last start at TPC Southwind. The Aussie is ranked 46th in the PGA Tour in adjusted scoring and 11th in scrambling. Jones is pegged at +10,000 to shock the world this week.

TopBet

Sleeper Picks
Xander Schauffele
Billy Horschel
Ollie Schniederjans

Looking for a worthy sleeper? How about Xander Schauffele? The PGA Tour rookie has been playing some solid golf of late, finishing in the top-15 in each of his last two starts, including an impressive fifth-place showing at the U.S. Open. His odds of winning the Quicken Loans National are priced at +5,000.

Rounding out TopBet’s sleeper picks are Billy Horschel and Ollie Schniederjans. Horschel’s striking the ball particularly well right now, racking up top-5s in two of his last five Tour starts. He made waves at last month’s Byron Nelson tournament, claiming the victory with a 12-under-par total of 268. He is pegged at +3,500 to win this week. Schniederjans, on the other hand, has made the cut in 14 of his last 16 starts. The Georgia Tech alum finished tied for 71st in his last start at Memorial. Schniederjans is priced at +5,000 to win this week’s event.
