2018 US Open Tennis Purse and Prize Money Breakdown

The US Open was the first tennis tournament to recognize gender equality when it comes to handing out prizes. The tournament’s organizers began dealing equal prizes for men and women players back in 1973, when singles champions only earned $25,000, which, in today’s money is only worth roughly $133,000. And in the 45th anniversary since the implementation of that equal pricing, we’re seeing yet another increase in total prize money. Let’s find out how that’s doled out to finishers.
