Matt Kuchar (+1,500)
Watch out for Kuchar. The 16-year pro has yet to cop a victory this season but he’s churning out strong performances to warrant some close attention. Over his last six events, Kuchar managed to finish inside the top ten four times.Sure, he placed just T46 at The Open, but he also had a T4 and a T3 at the Memorial and at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, respectively. Currently eighth on the season with a 1.660 strokes gained: total, Kuchar looks to take home his first win of the season this week.
Jim Furyk (+2,000)
Why is Furyk on this list? He has played in just seven PGA Tour events thus far and is obviously struggling following wrist surgery last February. Exactly. Furyk is the kind of player most people would overlook given those aforementioned issues. But to those who’s seen the veteran play at Glen Abbey in the past, there is some reason to believe he can top the field. The 24-year pro has placed in the top 15 in all of his last three appearances at Glen Abbey.
William McGirt (+3,000)
You have to dig McGirt if you’re looking for a sleeper to pin your money on. McGirt missed the cut at The Open, but it appears that won’t damage his confidence at Glen Abbey, considering his past exploits at the course. He finished with a T2 in the 2012 and 2013 editions of the RBC Canadian Open. All told, McGirt has made the cut five times in his career at Glen Abbey so you know he won’t be rattled easily playing at the said Canadian course.
