Juan Martin Del Potro

250x130-250FREE-6-16-16

You could say that Juan Martin Del Potro is arguably in the best shape of his life right now. He finally looks as healthy as possible after constantly enduring wrist issues for several years. The 27-year-old Argentine, who’s also known as Delpo to many, is coming off a silver-medal finish at the recently-concluded 2016 Summer Olmpics in Rio de Janeiro. He took down the pair of Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal before losing to Andy Murray in the championship match.

Those wins over Djokovic and Nadal, in particular, have definitely strengthened Del Potro’s confidence even more. When healthy, it’s clear that he’s capable of not just competing against best of the bests, but also winning over them.

The 2009 US Open champion is priced at -1,200 to defeat his first-round foe in Diego Sebastian Schwartzman.

Marin Cilic

Like Delpo, Marin Cilic is also a former US Open champion. He won the event back in 2014, beating the likes of Kevin Anderson, Gilles Simon, Tomas Berdych, Roger Federer and Kei Nishikori to ultimately claim his first and only Grand Slam crown to date.

Cilic has had a relatively quiet, yet solid season. He’s won 31 of his 46 matches, which includes a successful run at the Western & Southern Open earlier this month. He defeated Andy Murray in the final to claim his first title of the year and the timing couldn’t have been any better. The 27-year-old Croatian will surely utilize that newfound momentum, hoping it would be enough to give him a strong-enough push towards his second US Open title.

Kei Nishikori

Kei Nishikori is always a threat no matter where he’s playing or who he’s up against. There’s a certain type of tenacity regarding his play. He usually struggles to find some momentum in most matches, but once he manages to win a set or starts hitting his two-handed backhand, the Japanese veteran is a force to be reckoned with.

This season, the seventh-ranked player in the world has put together a respectable 45-13 record. However, he’s only won one tournament—at Memphis—during that stretch and a big reason to that is his lack of a killer instinct. If he finds it in New York though, you can expect Nishikori, who finished as the US Open runner-up back in 2014, to make a strong run at the title.

Nishikori is priced at -5,000 beat his first-round opponent in Benjamin Becker.

And there you have them—the top sleepers for the 2016 ATP US Open. Create a betting account now and get in on all of the upcoming tennis action.
