Expert Winner
Sam Belden Hideki Matsuyama

Sam Belden has made his choice and it is Hideki Matsuyama who he thinks will win the SBS Tournament of Champions this week. The Japanese star has been playing some excellent golf of late, winning four of his last five starts, including victories at the Hero World Challenge and WGC-HSBC Champions. With Matsuyama playing some of the best golf of his life right now, expect the 24-year-old to be in contention once again this coming weekend. He is pegged at +450 to win the Tournament of Champions for the first time in his career.

CBS Sports

Expert Winner
Robby Kalland Hideki Matsuyama
Kyle Porter Jordan Spieth

Robby Kalland of CBS Sports is another expert who’s backing Matsuyama to take home the title this week. He believes that Matsuyama’s experience in this event will be the main difference this weekend. Matsuyama has been pretty good in this tournament, nabbing a third-place finish back in 2015. He shot a 20-under-par total that year to finish one stroke shy of champion Patrick Reed.

Kalland’s colleague Kyle Porter, on the other hand, is firm in his belief that Jordan Spieth will win the Tournament of Champions this week. He loves playing in this event as evidenced by his tournament win here last year and runner-up finish in 2015. Spieth has been in fine form as well, nabbing top-10s in three of his last four starts, including a victory at the Australian Open. He is pegged at +500 to win the year’s first PGA Tour event.

Expert Winner
Jonathan Wall Jordan Spieth
Mike McAllister Hideki Matsuyama
Sean Martin Hideki Matsuyama
Rob Bolton Jordan Spieth
Ben Everill Hideki Matsuyama
Matt Cochran Dustin Johnson
James Hickey Jimmy Walker

The golfer who got the most votes among PGATour.com’s experts is Hideki Matsuyama. Mike McAllister, Sean Martin and Ben Everill picked him to win this week because of his outstanding form. He has been on an absolute tear over the past few months, nabbing four victories and a runner-up finish at the CIMB Classic in his last five starts. With the way he’s striking the ball right now, it isn’t far-fetched to see Matsuyama capture his fourth PGA Tour title this week.
