CBS Sports (SportsLine) – Mike McClure
Expert | Confident in… |
Mike McLure | Erik Jones |
Via CBS Sports, Mike McClure of SportsLine, is confident that Erik Jones is going to surpass expectations at the Go Bowling at the Glen. Not many people are being excited over the prospect of Jones winning this coming weekend’s race, mostly because he hasn’t competed at the track plenty of times. But he’s shown promise in the two races he’s had there so far in his career. Last year, he finished fifth at the 2018 Go Bowling race and was 10th at the 2017 edition of the same event. Jones is also on a hot streak, having finished inside the top three in each of his last three races.
MSN – Pat DeCola
Expert | Top-ranked |
Pat DeCola | Kyle Busch |
Writing for MSN, Pat DeCola ranked the 20 drivers heading into the Go Bowling at The Glen race, and has, unsurprisingly, Kyle Busch on top. Busch has simply been amazing this season in which he has five top 6s, 12 top 10s, and 247 laps led overall. Plus, of course, he has four wins, tied for most this season. Busch hasn’t won in a while (relatively speaking), but he’s trending towards one again, having placed inside the top 10 in all of this past three races. He has a career average finish of 9.36 at the Watkins Glen International with two wins across 14 races there.
Sports Chat Place – Randy Chambers
Expert | Top-ranked |
Randy Chambers | Kyle Busch |
Just like most people, Randy Chambers of Sports Chat Place has Busch on top of his list. Noting that the current No. 1 driver in the NASCAR Cup hasn’t won a race in seven weeks, it seems for Chambers that Busch is due for one this coming weekend. Busch finished third in last year’s Go Bowling race and topped The Cheez-It 355 At The Glen back in 2011. Moreover, Busch has finished seventh or better in each of his four appearances at the Watkins Glen International.
TopBet Writer – Ryan Simpson
Expert | Pick |
Ryan Simpson | Clint Bowyer |
TopBet’s resident NASCAR betting expert Ryan Simpson is high on Bowyer, who may not be on most other people’s rankings for the upcoming race at the Watkins Glen International. While Bowyer has yet to win a race this season and is only coming off a decent 11th-place finish at Pocono Raceway last week, it’s worth noting that he’s a very good driver on road course tracks. In his last four appearances at the Watkins Glen International, he’s come up with an average finish of 10.0. Since 2017, he has also lead all drivers with a 5.83 average finish at road course tracks.
