Kevin Harvick seems to have the hottest wheel right now, having collected his second win in three starts. He’s a driver to watch again this weekend (view full betting preview here) but you shouldn’t be ignoring other racers with lesser appeal. Some of these sleepers have more than reasonable chances (with decent payoff odds) to strike gold at the Kentucky Speedway on Sunday. Let’s have a look at these high-value sleepers below. William Byron (odds)
Byron has not won a race to date this season, but he’s inside the playoff picture, thanks in large part to his total of five top-10 finishes. Among those was his seventh-place finish at Pocono 350 late last June. Byron only has two career NASCAR Cup Series starts at Kentucky Speedway. He managed a 20th-place performance in his debut there at the 2018 Quaker State 400 then improved a bit with an 18th-place showing at the 2019 Quaker 400. Byron has finished inside the top 15 in three of his last four races.
Erik Jones (odds)
Jones can consider himself lucky for emerging okay and unscathed from his crash at Indianapolis Motor Speedway last Sunday. However, he finished just 38th, a week after a strong third-place performance at Pocono 350. Jones could be itching to get back in action, especially since the next race is at Kentucky Speedway, where he’s been amazing. Jones as finished no worse than seventh in each of his total three starts there. Last year, he was third at the 2019 Quaker State 400.
Matt Kenseth (odds)
Kenseth finally showed up, as the veteran finished second overall at the Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 at Indianapolis Speedway, his best showing to date this season. But he was already trending nicely before that, with an 11th and 12th-place performances at Pocono 325 and Pocono 350, respectively. Kenseth has a win, three top 5s, and six top 10s in eight career starts at Kentucky Speedway. His career average finish there is 8.38.
