FAVORITES

Kyle Larson (+400)

Larson is primed for a strong rebound after failing to finish last Sunday’s race due to engine troubles. Prior to that debacle at Darlington Raceway, Larson had three consecutive top-6 finishes. He also won the last time he raced at Kansas Speedway, having topped the 2021 edition of the Hollywood Casino 400.

Kyle Busch (+700)

Like Larson, Busch was also unable to finish the last week’s 2022 Goodyear 400, as he figured in an accident. That snapped his five-race streak of top 9s, a stretch that included his win in last April’s 2022 Food City Dirt Race at Bristol Motor Speedway (Dirt).

Denny Hamlin (+800)

Despite the kind of season he is having, Hamlin continues to see his name consistently juxtaposed with the other favorites. Outside of his win at Richmond early last April, there’s not a lot to write about Hamlin’s performance this season. Still, he has three wins, 9 top 5s, and 10 top 10s in 27 career starts at Kansas Speedway.

SLEEPERS

Tyler Reddick (+1600)

Here’s what we said about Reddick in our 2022 AdventHealth 400 sleepers piece:

Reddick nearly scored his first win of the season last week, when he finished runner-up to Joey Logano at the 2022 Goodyear 400 in Darlington Raceway. That’s a nice way to announce his return to form after back-to-back sub-30 finishes at the 2022 Goodyear 400 and at the 2022 DuraMAX Drydene 400 presented by RelaDyne. Reddick is also pretty decent so far in his career when it comes to racing at Kansas Speedway. In five starts there, he’s collected a pair of top 10s, finishing ninth in his debut there (2019 Digital Ally 400) and seventh at the 2021 Buschy McBusch Race 400.

Chase Briscoe (+2800)

Here’s what we said about Briscoe in our 2022 AdventHealth 400:

Briscoe seems to be on a cold stretch, though he recently had a 13th-place finish at the 2022 DuraMAX Drydene 400, which was followed by a 20th-place performance at the 2022 Goodyear 400. His experience racing at Kansas Speedway is so thin at the moment, that it’s not fair to project how well he would do this coming Sunday on that track. He finished 20th there in his debut (2021 Buschy McBusch Race 400) and then placed 19th in the 2021 Hollywood Casino 400. It’s also worth noting that Briscoe has already won a race this season, besting the field at the 2022 Ruoff Mortgage 500.

LONG SHOT

Justin Haley (+10000)

Haley only has 243 points and is ranked just 21st overall, so far this season. But he made quite a noise last Sunday when he finished third at Darlington. He’s also finished inside the top 15 in each of his last four starts.

Writer’s Prediction

Kyle Busch wins the 2022 AdventHealth 400.
