Sports fans are in for a treat tonight as the NHL and the MLB have lined up two fantastic games that will definitely tickle your fancy. Kicking things off later this evening is Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

It’s Game 1 of The Stanley Cup Final and the stage is set for one epic matchup. The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Chicago Blackhawks will head to their best-of-seven showdown with extreme confidence after grabbing monumental Game 7 victories last week. The Bolts stunned the Rangers, 2-0, in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals while the Blackhawks edged past the Ducks, 5-3, in their own series finale.
[sc:NHL240 ]Key to Tampa Bay’s success this postseason has been their forward line. Tampa Bay’s top six forwards have scored 45 of its 55 playoff goals. Leading the way for the Lightning is captain Steven Stamkos who has collected 14 points since the start of the second round. Ondrej Palat, Tyler Johnson and Nikita Kutcherov are also expected to play major roles tonight for Tampa Bay. They have combined for 28 goals and 27 assists in these playoffs.
Not to be outdone, Chicago’s attack has also been sensational this postseason. They are third-best in the league in scoring with 3.29 goals per game in these playoffs. Expected to lead the Hawks’ offense tonight is Jonathan Toews. The captain scored five goals in their previous series against the Ducks, two of which came in that pivotal Game 7.

New York Mets vs. San Diego Padres (9:00 PM ET)

The San Diego Padres returned to winning ways Tuesday with a 7-2 victory over the New York Mets. They will look to make it back-to-back wins when they square off with the Mets tonight in the second game of their three-game set. They will fancy their chances of doing just that as they have their ace James Shields (6-0, 3.69 ERA) on the mound for the game. The Padres have won their last six games with Shields as their starter.
The Mets will counter with Dillon Gee (0-2, 3.86 ERA). This will be Gee’s first start since landing on the disabled list May 8. The Mets are 3-2 in Gee’s five starts this season. Gee has lost his last two starts against the Padres, allowing five runs in 11.1 innings of action.
The Padres are 6-4 in their last 10 home games against the Mets.
