Following shortly, the Pittsburgh Pirates (79-51) pay the Milwaukee Brewers (56-75) a visit for the second encounter of their own three-game series.

Over his previous two starts, he’s logged in 14 1/3 innings of three-run ball along with 14 K’s to pick up two-straight victories. Bauer will look to keep this up and kick off September on a high note against the Blue Jays tonight.
Speaking of the Blue Jays, they will be countering with R.A. Dickey, who is 9-10 with a 4.25 ERA on the season. Dickey has been on a tear since the All-Star break, holding an unblemished 6-0 mark and a quality 3.07 ERA in nine starts. Over 14 starts at home this year, he is 7-3 along with a 3.36 ERA and a .201 opponents’ batting average.
Cleveland is 4-6 in Bauer’s last 10 turns. Toronto, meanwhile, is 4-1 in its previous five home games with Dickey starting.

In his most recent start, he fired seven innings of two-run ball to earn the commanding 7-2 win at Miami Wednesday night. Locke will aim to build on this performance when he steps on the mound against the Brewers this evening despite carrying a 4-4 record, a 5.61 ERA and a .289 opponents’ batting average across 11 roads stars this season. Pittsburgh is 6-4 in Locke’s past 10 starts.
As for Milwaukee, they’ll be putting their trust on Zach Davies, who’ll be making his Major League debut later. Davies was acquired from the Orioles in exchange for Gerardo Parra on July 31. In over 19 games with Baltimore’s Triple-A affiliate this year, he compiled a 2.84 ERA with a 81/31 K/BB ratio through 101 1/3 innings logged in.
