[sc:MLB240banner ]The Royals’ offense suddenly woke up as they exploded for a five-run sixth inning in Game 2 of the World Series. Billy Butler drove in a run and Salvador Perez hit a two-run double before Omar Infante put the finishing touches with a two-run homer in the sixth inning explosion. They’ll have to contend with the Giants’ Tim Hudson next. Hudson was tagged for four earned runs on seven hits, including a home run, in the NLCS against St. Louis. Oregon Ducks vs. California Golden Bears (10:00 PM ET)
Line: Oregon Ducks (-17.5) at California Golden Bears (+17.5); total 78.5 – view these lines
The Oregon Ducks’ freshman running back Royce Freeman ran for 169 yards and four touchdowns against Washington Saturday. It was his second consecutive 100-yard performance after rushing for 121 yards and two scores a week before against UCLA.
Having Freeman in the backfield will give quarterback Marcus Mariota a more dynamic attack. However, don’t expect Mariota to ease off on his passing. He should be able to rack up the yards on California’s Pac-12 worst 391.7 passing yards allowed per game, especially with California safety Griffin Piatt suffering a season-ending knee injury against Washington on October 5. Piatt leads his team with three interceptions this season. Read our complete preview and prediction for this Pac-12 showdown here.
Writer’s Prediction
The Ducks (-17.5) win and cover against the Golden Bears.
