Look out, there’s still some life left in the ever-resilient Blue Jays. Toronto cut Kansas City’s series lead to 2-1 with an impressive 11-8 victory in Game 3 of the ALCS. The Jays’ vaunted power game returned on Monday as they lit up Royals ace Johnny Cueto for a whopping eight runs. Troy Tulowitzki and Josh Donaldson each drilled a homer in a six-run third inning that swung the game in Toronto’s favor.

Dickey (0-0, 1.93 ERA). He lasted just 4.2 innings in Game 4 of the ALDS, but he surrendered only one run. Dickey was terrific in his last start against the Royals on August 2, giving up no runs and two hits while striking out six batters in seven innings of work.

The Royals, on the other hand, will have Chris Young (0-0, 2.25 ERA) as their starting pitcher today. He allowed only one run over four innings during Game 1 of the ALDS against the Houston Astros. Young started just once against the Blue Jays this season, allowing three runs in six innings of work.

The Blue Jays are 6-1 in their last seven home games against the Royals.

Writer’s Prediction

Toronto wins, 7-3, to even the series at two games apiece.

New York Mets vs. Chicago Cubs (8:07 PM ET)

Line: New York Mets (-125) at Chicago Cubs (+115) – view all MLB lines

Jacob deGrom

The New York Mets grabbed a commanding 2-0 lead in the NLCS with a thrilling 4-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. Daniel Murphy was the star of the show for the Mets, hitting his fifth homer this postseason off Cubs ace Jake Arrieta. The Mets will look to establish a 3-0 series advantage later tonight when they take on the Cubs in Game 3 of their National League Championship Series at Wrigley Field.

Starting for the Mets in this all-important game is Jacob deGrom (2-0, 1.38 ERA). He will be going for his third postseason win this year after allowing two runs in 13 innings in the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He lost both of his starts, though, against the Cubs this season. Chicago, on the other hand, will counter with starter Kyle Hendricks (0-0, 5.79 ERA). He gave up three runs in 4.2 innings pitched in his last postseason start in Game 2 of the NLDS versus the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Cubs are 7-0 in their last seven home games against the Mets.
