Betting on the Central Michigan Chippewas (+11.5)

Central Michigan was one of the early surprises of the season, winning its first three games to start the year, including a huge upset over then-No. 22 Oklahoma State in Week 2.

After that though, things went on a relatively quick decline as the Chippewas ended up losing six of their final nine games, resulting to a respectable 6-6 record (5-7 ATS), good for fifth in the MAC West.

The main man to look out for in this team is none other than QB Cooper Rush, who’s turned into an intriguing NFL prospect. He has 3,299 yards passing with 23 touchdowns in his senior season with Central Michigan. He commands a pass-heavy offense (395.1 total yards per game) that features junior wide receiver Corey Willis, who has been the main—and very reliable—recipient of Rush’s passes.

Willis boasts a career-high of 1,024 yards on 68 catches and nine touchdowns. He and Rush provide the Chippewas a troublesome tandem that opposing teams ought to look out for.

Betting on the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes (-11.5)

Tulsa had a solid regular-season, finishing second place in the AAC west with a 9-3 overall record (7-4-1 ATS). The team’s success has mainly come from a high-scoring offense that averages 41.4 points, and one that’s put up 35 or more points in each of its final six games.

The Golden Hurricanes’ passing game has been efficiently led by senior play-caller Dane Evans, who has thrown for 3,044 yards with a career-best 27 touchdowns. Nearly half of those TD passes—12 to be exact—were corralled by his favorite target and fellow senior Keevan Lucas (1,108 yards, 74 catches).

Meanwhile, Tulsa’s biggest strength is actually its powerful running game, which is led by RB James Flanders. He currently ranks ninth in the country in all-purpose yards (1,529) and seventh in rushing touchdowns (17). Flanders also has seven 100-yard games on the season, including a career-defining performance (249 rushing yards, five scores) in a win at Memphis last October.
