Betting on the Cincinnati Reds (+1.5)

Regular Season Record: 26-29

The Reds will look to stay hot and complete a sweep of Boston in this three-game series at Fenway Park. Cincy has won the first two games by a combined score of 14-12. On the mound for the Reds later tonight will be Hunter Greene, who is 1-4 with a 4.18 ERA and 1.38 WHIP so far in the 2023 MLB season. However, he shined in his last start, tossing six scoreless innings in a 9-0 victory at Wrigley Field over the Chicago Cubs last Friday. Over their last 10 games, the Reds have hit .307 and also outscored opposing teams by a total of 18 runs.

The Reds are 5-1 in their last six road games against teams from the American League.

Betting on the Boston Red Sox (-1.5)

Regular Season Record: 28-27

It hasn’t been rosy for the Red Sox of late, as they have won just twice over their last nine games. They are also on a three-game losing streak. Chris Sale will look to rescue Boston when he starts tonight against the Reds. Sale owns a 5-2 record along with a 4.72 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. He went 3-0 with a 2.42 ERA in four starts in May and is coming off a sterling showing in a 7-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on the road in which he pitched for five innings and gave up just a run on four hits. Masataka Yoshida can wreak havoc at the plate, as he leads the Red Sox this season with a .317 batting average with seven home runs and 12 doubles.

The Over is 5-0 in the Red Sox’s last five Thursday games.

Writer’s Prediction

The Red Sox win, 5-3.
