NFL Week 16 Fantasy Experts Waiver Wire Pickups
Heavy (Jonathan Adams)
POSITION | Pick 1 | Pick 2 | Pick 3 |
QB | Matt Barkley | ||
RB | Ty Montgomery | ||
WR | Robby Anderson | JJ Nelson | Taylor Gabriel |
K | Kai Forbath |
Matt Barkley – The QB had 362 yards, two TDs, and three INTs last week against Green Bay, and will now face a Redskins pass defense that’s just as worse, allowing 260 passing YPG.
Ty Montgomery – The WR-turned-RB had a breakout game last week, recording 162 rushing yards and a pair of TDs. We can expect the Packers to try giving him plenty of chances once again.
Robby Anderson – He and Bryce Petty are trying to build chemistry, with the QB targeting him 29 times in the last three games. The rookie has 240 yards on 17.1 yards per catch, along with two TDs during the span.
JJ Nelson – Adams likes that Nelson is becoming a great part in the Cardinals offense once again. The WR now has a TD in each of his last three outings. He may have a tough day with the vaunted Seahawks defense, but he was able to produce 84 yards in their meeting in Week 7.
Taylor Gabriel – It’s a bit unlikely that Gabriel is still available in deep leagues, but if he isn’t, scoop him as fast as you can. He’s been great in the past seven weeks, recording 65 YPG on 19 yards per catch, including six scores.
Kai Forbath – The kicker has been productive in his last three games, scoring 10, 16, and 8 points in during the span. He’ll face a Packers team that allows the ninth-most fantasy points to kickers.
NY Daily News (Jake Ciely)
POSITION | Pick 1 | Pick 2 | Pick 3 | Pick 4 |
QB | Matt Barkley | |||
WR | AJ Green | Robby Anderson | Taylor Gabriel | Dontrelle Inman |
RB | Ty Montgomery | Bilal Powell | Charles Sims
TE | Ryan Griffin |
AJ Green – Green’s status for Week 16 is up in the air, but pick him up now if he’s sitting in your waiver wire. If he gets cleared to play, Ciely says he’s a must-start player.
Dontrelle Inman – The Chargers have a pretty unpredictable passing game, since they have three receivers that can explode any week. Inman, however, has been really productive in the last four contests, averaging 77 YPG an catching three passing TDs.
Bilal Powell – The pass-catching back has been showing off in the last two games, averaging 114 yards on the ground and 56 through the air. He should be able to get dozens of touches on Week 16.
Charles Sims – His numbers won’t appeal you (22.8 YPG), but according to Ciely, he likes Sims’ chances against the poor Saints defense. He added that a shootout can likely happen, and it’ll make the RB’s opportunities to score appealing.
Ryan Griffin – The TE2 is worth a look with first-stringer CJ Fiederowicz not 100% for Week 16. Griffin stepped in this past Sunday and caught all eight passes thrown at him, and powered it for 85 yards.

POSITION | Pick 1 | Pick 2 | Pick 3 |
D/ST | Chargers | Giants | |
RB | Kenneth Dixon | Justin Forsett
WR | Robby Anderson | Cameron Meredith
TE | Ryan Griffin | Charles Clay | Dion Sims |
Chargers – The Chargers D are 13th in fantasy points and should have a big production when they visit the lowly Browns. Through 14 games this season, they have 27 takeaways.
Giants – Big Blue’s defense has been doing really well in the past few weeks, so much so that they have climbed into sixth place in D/ST fantasy points. The unit has a favourable matchup with Carson Wentz and the Eagles, as they pounded the rookie for two picks and two sacks, while also blocking one field goal.
Justin Forsett – Despite the low production (27 YPG on 3.3 yards per carry), Forsett is still worth a look. The Broncos are dying to have a running game and they’ll keep feeding him the ball. He’ll face a Chiefs defense that allows the fifth-most yards on the ground.
Cameron Meredith – He’s averaging 81 YPG in his last three and fresh off a 104-yard performance. The Redskins secondary he’ll matchup with allows the seventh-most passing yards in the NFL.
Charles Clay – Clay has a TD in two straight weeks, while averaging 62 YPG. He’ll face the Dolphins defense that give up the 12th-most fantasy points to TEs this season.
Dion Sims – The Bills allow the ninth-fewest points to TEs this season, but Sims has been scoring well as of late, as he has caught a TD in three of the Fins’ last four games.
