We’re now at the second half of the season and the waiver wire of fantasy leagues are getting tighter and tighter. Are you set for the week? Never feel safe with your team, unless you have 2006 LaDainian Tomlinson, 2007 Tom Brady, 2013 Peyton Manning, early 2000s Marshall Faulk, or mid 2000s Priest Holmes, which is of course impossible. Also, 90% of the time, there’s a gem on the wire that could boost your lineup big time.

Fantasy Football Expert Guide Pickups for Week 9 of the 2016 NFL Season

Andy Behrens – Yahoo

Position Pick 1 Pick 2 Pick 3
QB Trevor Siemian
RB Tim Hightower Bucs’ Antone Smith or Peyton Barber Chandrick West
WR Kenny Britt
TE Eric Ebron
D/ST Dallas Cowboys

With injuries to Doug Martin and this year’s fantasy surprise Jacquizz Rodgers, the Bucs are now down to their third and fourth stringers at the running back position. It’ll be between Smith and Barber, and they’ll likely split 20-25 carries or so.

The Cowboys are an easy choice at the D/ST slot, because they’re facing the Cleveland Browns, a high school football squad disguising as an NFL franchise for the past 18 years.

Jack Ciely – New York Daily News

Position Pick 1 Pick 2 Pick 3
QB Dak Prescott Colin Kaepernick
WR Jamison Crowder JJ Nelson Kendall Wright
RB Chandrick West Tim Hightower Robert Kelley
TE CJ Fiedorowicz Eric Ebron Dennis Pitta

We know… Dak Prescott and Colin Kaepernick? Ciely noted that adding Prescott is just to remind anyone who has the rookie sensation available in their leagues. As for Kaep, it’s a very reasonable suggestion. He has 150 rushing yards on 8.8 yards per carry in two starts this year, and it should be appealing against the Saints’ suspect defense.

West, Hightower, and Kelley are all worth a try this week with injuries to the guys that are ahead of them in the depth chart.

For Nelson and Wright, they are hot pick ups because of their move into a starting role, especially Wright, who had a combined 14 catches for 217 yards against the Browns and the Jags.

Jeff Ratcliffe – Pro Football Focus

Position Pick 1 Pick 2 Pick 3
RB Tim Hightower Chandrick West Derrick Henry
WR JJ Nelson Corey Coleman

DeMarco Murray’s MRI on his toe came back negative, so he should be able to play on Sunday. That said, the Titans may likely play it safe and have Henry carry the ball more. If they do, good yardage could ensue. He’s coming off a decent 60-yard, one-TD game against the Jaguars.

Browns receiver Corey Coleman can come back any week right now, and it’ll be great to start stashing him. Prior to injuring his hand, the rookie was averaging 86.5 yards per game on 24.7 yards per catch.
