Logano enters this weekend’s race third in the standings with already a pair of wins this season. He won the 2022 Goodyear 400 back in May and, more recently, the 2022 Enjoy Illinois 300 presented by TicketSmarter last June. He had a cold stretch in July where he placed 20th or worse in four races in a row but regained his footing a bit with a sixth-place performance last Sunday at 2022 Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. Logano has three wins, seven top 5s, and 17 top 20s in 25 career appearances at Michigan International Speedway.
Bowman is having a pretty solid year, as he’s got a win and three top 5s this season plus nine top 10s for 541 points. But he can still use a bit of insurance to further secure a playoff spot. Bowman had a DVP last week, his second in his last four starts and third in the last six, so his season has been dinged a bit by misfortune. Still, he is a driver to watch out in this weekend’s race.
Jones is going to need to really start turning it on, as he is currently sitting in the 19th spot in the standings with 496 points. He needs a win to make it to the playoffs, and that will be on his mind when he revs his engine at Michigan International Speedway, where he has a career average finish of 16.6 across nine series.
