Here we go! The 2019 Geico 500 is set to kick off this coming weekend at the restrictor plate track Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, Alabama. Who’s going to take home a win? Will any of the favorites win it all? We can already tell you that for the first time in this year’s Monster Energy Cup Series, Kyle Busch isn’t a favorite among key experts, which isn’t as much of a surprise when you consider his 8th place performance at the Toyota Owners 400. That, and the fact that since 1970 there has only been one Toyota winner at Talladega. Ironically, it was Kyle Busch (in 2008). Here’s what the experts are saying about the 2019 edition of the Geico 500.

Landon Cassill | Brad Keselowski |
Dale Jarrett | Chase Elliott |
Parker Kligerman | Ryan Blaney |
The experts over at NBC were tackled NASCAR fantasy recently, and among the biggest takeaways from their discussion were their picks to win the race at the Talladega Superspeedway. For Landon Cassill, he’s high on the chances of Brad Keselowski, who is the winningest driver at the said track with five victories there in his career. Meanwhile, Dale Jarrett thinks that Chase Elliott is going to end his winless drought this season in Lincoln this weekend. Elliott hasn’t won in Talladega yet in his career, but he finished third in last year’s staging of the Geico 500. Lastly, Parker Kligerman believes Ryan Blaney will take home the bacon after Talladega. That’s quite a bold pick, considering that fact that Blaney is 0-for-15 in his career at Talladega, though, he has two top 10 finishes there.
World In Sport
Although WIS didn’t name an outright pick to win the race in Lincoln, the site mentioned Keselowski as an interesting driver to watch out. And why not? Keselowski has been hot of late, with three top 10s in his last five races. That includes a win in Martinsville, a third place in California, and a seventh place in last week’s race in Richmond.

WSN
Like WIS, WSN is confident in the chances of Keselowski to take Talladega by storm. They got a number of reasons to believe that conviction. For one, Keselowski has won five times at Talladega. Five. Times. He most recently won there in the 2017 Geico 500, but that was followed by a 33rd place at the 2018 Geico 500 and a 29th at the 1000Bulbs.com 500 last year.

TopBet Writer – Ryan Simpson
For our own Ryan Simpson, it’s Joey Logano who will reign supreme at the Talladega Superspeedway. Logano came very close to winning his second race of the season last week when he went second in Richmond. Despite the loss, Logano is on a roll with three top three finishes in his last five races. Also, Logano is the reigning Geico 500 champion, having topped the event last year. He has three Talladega wins in 20 career races in Lincoln.

Ryan Simpson | Joey Logano |
