Betting on the Indianapolis Colts (10-6)

Houston Texans were no match to the destructive force that are the Indianapolis Colts last week, as Frank Reich’s men steamrolled past Deshaun Watson and company in a 21-7 road win. Indianapolis’s defense was simply too much for the Texans, who were limited to only 322 total yards. Watson only had 235 passing yards on 49 attempts and finished with just a touchdown and an interception. Stopping the opponent’s passing attack is going to be the blueprint to success for the Colts next week against Kansas City, and that means continuing the excellence of the team’s pass rush. Against the Texans, the Colts sacked Watson three times for a loss of 18 yards. Speaking of which, the Colts’ offensive line, which allowed the fewest sacks in the regular season, will serve an important role opposite Kansas City’s defense that had the most quarterback takedowns this season.

The Colts are 3-0 straight up (SU) and 3-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last three road games.

Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (12-4)

After spending the first week of the playoffs watching the action unfold from their couches, the Chiefs will finally play their first game since Week 17. In their most recent game, the Chiefs destroyed the Oakland Raiders at home to the tune of a 35-3 score. It was an important victory for Kansas City, heading into the playoffs, as the team lost back-to-back games in Weeks 15 and 16, so a pick-me-up win was something the Chiefs really needed. Anyone who’s followed the Chiefs this season definitely believes that the team will go as far as where their offense takes them. The Chiefs finished the regular season as the highest-scoring team in the NFL with 35.3 points per game. They are also tops in total offense with 425.6 total yards per contest. Patrick Mahomes is the engine that makes everything run for the Chiefs’ attack. Although the Colts’ defense is nothing to scoff at, Mahomes has passed the test against sturdier stop units such as that of the Baltimore Ravens’ in a 27-24 win at home back in Week 14.

Kansas City is 8-2 SU and 5-5 ATS in its last 10 home games.

Writer’s Prediction

Kansas City wins, 27-24.
