Betting on the Michigan Wolverines (odds)
Record: 15-1 Overall / 10-1 Conference
The Wolverines are now 4-0 straight up in their last four games after defeating the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Saturday night in Ann Arbor, 71-64. The Wolverines choked out Rutgers’ offense, as the Scarlet Knights shot just 40.3 percent from the field and hit only three of 12 attempts from behind the arc. Michigan controlled that game with its rebounding, dominating the glass, 40-27. The frontcourt tandem of Hunter Dickinson and Franz Wagner is always trouble for opposing teams. In the Rutgers game, the two combined for 30 points and 15 rebounds, with Wagner coming away with a 3-of-5 line from behind the arc. Their excellent play on both ends of the floor pretty much defines Michigan, which is third in the Big Ten in adjusted offensive efficiency (110.3) and tops in adjusted defensive efficiency (92.1).
The under is 3-0 in Michigan’s last three road games.
Betting on the Ohio State Buckeyes (odds)
Record: 18-4 Overall / 12-4 Conference
Ohio State will march into its date with the Wolverines this coming Sunday with a seven-game win streak. In their last game, the Buckeyes took down the Penn State Nittany Lions on the road, 92-82 last Thursday. Ohio State used its torrid offense to collect another win, shooting 56.6 percent from the field against the Nittany Lions, while also going 11 of 20 from behind the arc. Ohio State’s outside shooting has been on point over their last few games. They have buried at least 10 3-pointers in three of their last four games. They had 14 3-points in a shootout with the Iowa Hawkeyes on their way to an 89-85 win on the road on Feb. 4. The Buckeyes are a good covering team when at home this season.
Ohio State is 5-2 against the spread in its last 10 games at home and 6-4 ATS in its last 10.
Writer’s Prediction
Ohio State wins, 77-75.
