Betting on the Michigan Wolverines (+8.0)

Record: 11-0 Overall / 8-0 Conference

Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines made sure they will be undefeated like Ohio State for next Saturday’s meeting by taking down the Illinois Fighting Illini over the weekend at home, 19-17. It was indeed a testy game for Michigan, but at least the Wolverines got a nice warmup to keep their confidence in check. JJ McCarthy passed for 208 yards on just 18/34 completions, but Blake Corum rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. The Wolverines’ rushing attack will be a tough test for Ohio State, as they have one of the best backfields in the nation. But it could be Michigan’s defense that leads the way for the team.

Michigan, ranked No. 1 in the nation heading into Week 12 with just 11.7 points allowed per game, is 5-1 against the spread in its last six contests away from Ann Arbor.

Betting on the Ohio State Buckeyes (-8.0)

Record: 11-0 Overall / 8-0 Conference

Like the Wolverines, the Buckeyes got a bit of a scare over the weekend, as they had to really turn it up to stave off the stubborn Maryland Terrapins in College Park to score a 43-30 win. CJ Stroud passed for 241 yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions on 18/30 completions, while Dallan Hayden lit up the stat sheets with 146 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries. Running back TreVeyon Henderson also returned to action after missing two games and rushed for just 19 yards on 11 carries, but he should feel a lot better at home in Week 13, as he’s expected to have knocked off all the rusts. Ohio State is the top-scoring team in the nation, which could mean it will be the toughest test this season for Michigan’s defense – and vice versa. On the season, the Buckeyes are averaging over 46.5 points per game.

Ohio State is 4-0-1 against the spread in its last five home games.

Writer’s Prediction

Ohio State wins, 28-21.
