Balmore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays (7:07 PM ET)
Line: Baltimore Orioles (-105) at Toronto Blue Jays (-105); total: 9.0 – see all MLB lines
[sc:MLB240banner ]After winning for the first time in five games, the Blue Jays give the ball to J.A. Happ, as the series shifts to its third and final game. The Blue Jays are 3-0 in Happ’s last three home games.
The Blue Jays are going to face the Orioles’ Miguel Gonzalez (5-6, 3.93 ERA), who owns a 4-1 record with a 2.45 ERA in his last seven starts versus Toronto. The Orioles are also 3-1 in Gonzalez’s last four road starts.
Writer’s prediction: The Orioles increases their division lead with a win.
Cleveland Indians vs. Cincinnati Reds (7:10 PM ET)
Line: Cleveland Indians (+113) at Cincinnati Reds (-123); total: 7.5 – see all MLB lines
Both the offense and the pitching have been humming smoothly for the Reds over their last two wins, outscoring Cleveland, 17-5. Cincinnati’s 8-3 win last night over the Indians improved the Reds’ record to 3-1 in their last four games. Meanwhile, Cleveland’s T.J. House goes back to the mound five days after tossing five scoreless innings in the Indians’ 2-0 win against Texas on August 2. The Indians are 6-2 in House’s last eight starts.
Writer’s prediction: The Reds win the game and the series against Cleveland.
Boston Red Sox vs. St. Louis Cardinals (10:05 PM ET)
Line: Boston Red Sox (+165) at St. Louis Cardinals (-185); total: 7.0 – see all MLB lines
Adam Wainwright (13-6, 2.26 ERA) pitches against the Red Sox for the first time since last season’s Fall Classic, and he’s keen on helping his team win the series and winning his 14th of the season. The Cards are 7-3 in Wainwright’s last 10 starts. Boston, on the other hand, are just 3-7 in its last 10 games, but are 2-0 in the last two times the team faced the Cards with Wainwright on the mound.
Writer’s prediction: Adam Wainwright keeps the Red Sox in check, as Cards win. Create a betting account now and cash in on today’s baseball games.
Los Angeles Angels Dodgers vs. Los Angeles Angels (10:05 PM ET)
Line: Los Angeles Dodgers (EVEN) at Los Angeles Angels (-110); total: 7.5 – see all MLB lines
The Angels suffered another setback at the hands of their rivals last night, losing to the Dodgers, 2-1. On the mound for the Angels in the fourth and last game of the series is C.J. Wilson (8-7, 4.74 ERA). Though Wilson hasn’t won a game since late June, the Angels still are 6-0 in his last six home starts. He’ll face the Dodgers, who’ve won both of the last two meetings with the Angels. The Dodgers are also 4-0 in their last four road games.
Writer’s prediction: The Dodgers end the series with a win.
Minnesota Twins vs. Oakland Athletics (10:05 PM ET)
Line: Minnesota Twins (+210) at Oakland Athletics (+210); total: 7.0 – see all MLB lines
The Athletics have made a habit of beating Minnesota, going 9-0 in their last nine meetings. With Jon Lester (11-7, 2.59 ERA) on the mound again, the A’s appear to be every bit the +210 favorite to win their 10th straight victory over Minnesota. The Twins, however, have shown some life as of late, winning three of their last four games. The over is also 5-1 in Minnesota’s last six games overall.
Writer’s prediction: The A’s pummel Minnesota.
