Jason La Canfora, Will Brinson, Ryan Wilson and Dave Richard are the only ones in CBS Sports’ panel of experts to have made 100-plus correct ATS picks in the current NFL Regular Season. The four of them are unison when it comes to three games on the schedule. They’re all picking Arizona, Detroit and Green Bay to win and cover their respective spreads.
[sc:NFL240banner ]The Cardinals have a solid rushing defense, ranking fourth in the league with just 89 yards allowed per game. Arizona stands a strong chance of taking a win against the Vikings, especially if they can limit Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson. “All Day” has been the lifeblood of the Vikings’ offense this season with the passing game struggling (just 226.5 yards per game – 27th in the league).
The Lions, meanwhile, have looked like a completely different team since their Week 9 bye. Detroit has won three of its last four games. The Lions could also be carrying a four-game win streak into this showdown if not for Green Bay’s improbable last-second, 61-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass in Week 13. Good news for Week 14, though: Detroit will now face a St. Louis Rams team that’s struggling on both sides of the ball. The Rams were outscored 58-10 in their last two games combined and are in the midst of five-straight losses.
And let’s not forget Green Bay, who has a tougher path to victory against the defensively sound Dallas Cowboys. But they own one of the best quarterbacks in the league, Aaron Rodgers. The Green Bay signal-caller has all the tools he needs to defeat the Cowboys. He has solid receivers James Jones, Randall Cobb, Davante Parker and Richard Rodgers to pass the ball to. He can also hand off to running back Eddie Lacy, who rushed for back-to-back 100-yard games before being benched last week.

Bleacher Report’s Steve Silverman highlights three matchups to keep an eye on in Week 14. He believes that the week’s marquee matchup would be the Steelers vs. Bengals AFC North showdown on Sunday afternoon. Silverman concedes that while Cincinnati has a strong defense, the Steelers have a potent offense to counter that D to take the victory. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has plenty of weapons at his disposal, with wide receivers Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant and Markus Wheaton able to stretch out the Bengals’ defense en route to an upset at Paul Brown Stadium.
Silverman also highlighted the Raiders vs. Broncos AFC West showdown. Although he picked Oakland to cover the spread, he also noted that the Broncos may opt for a ground-and-pound approach by utilizing running backs C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman to carve up Oakland’s front seven. The Broncos may also be looking to keep quarterback Brock Osweiler from committing mistakes by limiting the times he passes the ball. That being said, The Broncos chewing up the clock with their running game should have this game go under 43.5.
The Titans vs. Jets game at MetLife Stadium is also pretty intriguing. Silverman cited that the Jets have usually struggled against opponents they should’ve handled easily this season, but he also picked them to still cover the relatively huge -7.5 spread. Then again, the Titans are also no slouches themselves, especially with rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota leading the offense. Mariota was solid last week with 268 yards passing and three touchdowns, and also had a long 87-yard touchdown run to highlight his scrambling ability.

Jim Derry of NOLA.com picked his top two games of the week to be the Falcons vs. Panthers and Chargers vs. Chiefs. Derry believes that the Panthers are a strong team that should avoid a loss against nose-diving Atlanta. However, we’ve seen a lot of strange things happen over in the NFC South for the past couple of years, so the game will likely have the Falcons put up a decent fight and cover +7.5. It’s also interesting to note that the total has gone under in six of Carolina’s last seven games.
Derry also takes a look at the Chargers vs. Chiefs matchup. He believes that the Chargers should cover +10.5 on the road against Kansas City. The Chiefs have been absolutely beastly on defense, while Alex Smith has been lights out starting under center. For Derry, the Chiefs have all the tools to extend their win streak. Then again, he countered by stating that winning by 11 or more points may be too tall an order, especially in a divisional game against the volatile Chargers.
