Martin Truex Jr. rolls into the weekend on the heels of a win at Quaker State 400 and he targets yet another victory this summer in New Hampshire, where competition will once again be stiff. Here’s a brief look at Truex’s odds to win the race along with those of other racers.

Favorites: Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch

The current pacesetter of the Monster Energy Cup Series leaderboard with 709 points to his name, Truex (+600) has a chance to go back to back this weekend after topping the Quaker State 400 last Sunday for his third win this season. Truex has looked dominant for most of the year with already three wins and six top 5’s on 18 starts.

While he has yet to notch a victory at New Hampshire in 22 career starts there, his 264 laps led at the track is second most among all drivers since 2015. Having said all of that, Truex isn’t the holder of the shortest odds to win Overton 301 this year. That goes to Kyle Busch, who’s priced +475 to occupy the top space on the podium once the race concludes. Busch has always been an elite performance in New Hampshire. In fact, dating back to 2015, Busch has a win and two top 5’s in four races at the intermediate track. Watch out for Toyota’s No. 18.

Sleeper: Kyle Larson

Larson received a harsh 35-point deduction on his NASCAR Cup points total after an illegal part was discovered in his car. He’s still second on the standings, though, and something positive could come out from the incident for Larson, as he’s likely entering this weekend’s race with extra motivation. Perhaps that comes in a good time, as Larson has fond memories of success at the track. Larson went third and second in his first two races at the track, respectively. He finished 10th in last year’s edition of the New England 300.

Long Shot: Kasey Kahne

Kahne is giving shelter to odds of +6,000, which is a clear sign that not much is in store for race fans willing to bet on him. A little inspection of Kahne’s resume at the track, however, would reveal that he’s not entirely embarrassed himself at New Hampshire. Kahne has a couple of top 10’s  and three top 20’s in four career starts at the race course since 2015. He’s also won the Overton’s 301 race back in 2012.  He’s worth at least a look and perhaps a value bet.
