FAVORITES
Kyle Busch (+600)
Just like what many predicted, Busch took the checkered flag last week at the 2023 Pala Casino 400 at Auto Club Speedway. He could still be hot and win another this weekend. He has always raced great at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where he has 11 top 5s and 14 top 10s, including a win, in 23 starts.
Kyle Larson (+700)
Although Larson is not having a good start so far this season, it’s just difficult to ignore him. He can get it going anytime, and that could be this week in Sin City. Larson, who was 29th last Sunday at the 2023 Pala Casino 400, has five top 5s and nine top 10s, including a win in 13 career starts at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He won there in 2021 during that year’s edition of the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube.
Ross Chastain (+800)
Chastain is tops in the standings after two races this season with 92 points, and that’s despite not winning yet. He placed ninth at the 2023 Daytona 500 and third at the 2023 Pala Casino 400, so that’s back-to-back top 10s for him now. Speaking of which, he has also cracked the top five in both of his last two starts at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
SLEEPERS
Chris Buescher (+8000)
Here’s what we have to say about Buescher in our 2023 Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube sleepers piece:
“After finishing fourth at the 2023 Pala Casino 400, Buescher placed 13th overall in last Sunday’s race at the Auto Club Speedway. That’s not a bad start to the season for the RFK Racing driver, who has nine top 20s in 12 career starts at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. His best finish there to date was ninth during the 2020 South Point 400.”
Ricky Stenhouse Jr (+10000)
Here’s what we have to say about Stenhouse Jr.in our 2023 Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube sleepers piece:
“Stenhouse is still riding high on the success he had at the 2023 Daytona 500. He followed that up with a 12th-place finish at the 2023 Pala Casino 400, which wasn’t all that bad, as he still managed to collect 25 points. Stenhouse has not won yet at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but he’s got pair of top 10s there, finishing sixth there at the 2019 Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube and third during the following year’s iteration of the same race.”
LONG SHOT
Cody Ware (+100000)
Ware has a career average finish of 30.2 in five starts at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Writer’s Prediction
