FAVORITES
Jon Rahm (+900)
Rahm is on a mission this week. It could be remembered that COVID-19 stole his chance to win the 2021 edition of the Memorial Tournament, so he should be laser-focused on the task at hand at Muirfield Village Golf Club. Rahm recently won the 2022 Mexico Open at Vidanta before placing a T48 at the 2022 PGA Championship – a letdown performance but that doesn’t diminish his image as an automatic favorite in any tournament. So far this season, Rahm has five top 10s and eight top 25s in 12 starts this season, so far. Rahm is fifth this season in driving distance and no. 1 in greens in regulation percentage.
Patrick Cantlay (+1600)
Speaking of automatic, Cantlay is definitely one whenever there’s an event at Muirfield Village Golf Club. For one, Cantlay has won this tournament two times already. He won the Memorial Tournament in 2019 and in 2021. He has three top 10s in five starts there. He’s coming off a missed cut at the 2022 PGA Championship in his most recent start, but he also won the 2022 Zurich Classic of New Orleans and went runner-up at the 2022 RBC Heritage prior to that. Overall, Cantlay has six top 10s with nine made cuts in 11 starts this season.
Rory McIlroy (+1100)
This season, McIlroy is a top-10 factory, with the Northern Irishman cracking the top 10 five times in just eight starts. By placing eighth at the 2022 PGA Championship, McIlroy is now on a three-start streak of finishes inside the top eight. He is also 7 of 8 this season and currently is the king in terms of scoring average (69.15). With that kind of form, it would be hard not to count on McIlroy to make noise this week.
HIGH-VALUE SLEEPERS
Matt Kuchar (+7500)
Here’s what we said about Matt Kuchar in our 2022 the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday sleepers article:
The 43-year-old pro out of Winterpark, Florida is ranked only 83rd in the world, but he’s been silently putting together a sound campaign in the 2021-22 PGA TOUR – especially of late. He is currently riding a streak of six made cuts in a row, during which he posted a T2 at the 2022 Valero Texas Open and a T3 at the 2022 RBC Heritage. In the same span, he recorded a T12 at the AT&T Byron Nelson, too. With 12 made cuts in 15 starts and three top 10s this season, Kuchar, at his price, is teeming with value.
Patton Kizzire (+17500)

LONG SHOTS
J.T. Poston (+20000)
Poston’s season is littered with missed cuts, as he is jutsd 7 of 20 this season. He is also 3 of 4 in his last four, though that lone trip to Sunday in that stretch resulted in a T9 at the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship. He is 2 of 3 in his career at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
Doug Ghim (+20000)
Ghim has missed both of his last two starts. He is hoping to recapture his much-better form earlier this season, when he went 8 of 9 to start his 2021-22 PGA TOUR campaign. Ghim had a T6, though, at the 2022 THE PLAYERS Championship.
Writer’s Prediction
Patrick Cantlay wins the 2022 the Memorial Tournament.
