The PGA Tour announced back in March 2021 that there will be a new event this season in the form of the 2021 Palmetto Championship. This tourney will be the replacement for the RBC Canadian Open. Although there’s not much history to go about for this event, players will still flock to Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, South Carolina, largely because there’s a lot of money to be made there this coming weekend. Because this is just a new tournament, the Palmetto Championship has no history of past payouts, prize distributions, or winner’s payouts. But here are more about the tournament and the total purse, via Links Magazine:
“Supported by the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism and The Friedkin Group, proceeds from the event will benefit Congaree Foundation. A $7.8 million purse will be up for grabs for the full 156-player field, and a limited number of daily grounds tickets will be available via PalmettoChampionship.com.”
